I heard a lot about this local spot so I had to give it a try. It definitely has that old diner ambiance but they keep it clean. The food was good, but not the best burger or poutine I’ve had. I enjoyed it but probably won’t be returning often.

The burger was cooked perfectly and tasted great, just the way I like it. The owner/manager was warm and friendly, which added a nice touch to the experience. However, the cashier came across as unwelcoming. Overall, I enjoyed the vibe of the place.

Had a fantastic experience at Golden Star! The Steak on Kaiser and the All Star Burger were both outstanding—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere made it a great spot to enjoy a satisfying meal. Service was friendly and attentive, which added to the charm of the place. While everything was excellent, I felt the fries could have been a bit better. Still, I highly recommend Golden Star to anyone in Toronto looking for a classic burger experience. Whether you’re in for lunch or dinner, you won’t be disappointed with their tasty, fresh-made burgers!

Golden Star Restaurant has great quality food, but what really stood out was their amazing staff! Mo and the team went above and beyond by writing cute comments in my own language on the burgers, which was such a thoughtful touch. They were incredibly friendly, and the whole experience felt so warm and personal. Definitely going back again!

I ordered the steak kaiser combo with fries and a drink. My first time at Golden Star after quite a few friends recommended it. Because of the high expectations I was a tad bit disappointed with the steak which was a bit overcooked imo. The rest of the burger and fries was perfection though. Overall not bad, would def come back to try their MVP or all star burger!

It was closer to a 3.5-star experience for us. The burger was a bit dry, and the chipotle sauce leaned too sweet. We tried the MVP burger, and for $16, we expected a bit more in terms of flavor.

Had one of the best tasting ' Charbroiled no-filler Hamburger ' for a long while. Well charred, smokey and aromatic with a nice selection of toppings. Nothing-special home cut fries but great tasting gravy. $20 for a 6oz burger with extra bacon, fries, drink and gravy.👍😋

We order two hambúrguer steak, one poutine and one sweet potato frie, two cokes. Really goot steak. We can choose the topin for the hambúrguer. The staff was very friendly, and patient for the first time byer. We have all questions answered very nice. Rely recommended for friends.
