I recently tried the Korean beef short ribs from Northern Smokes, and they were absolutely phenomenal! The ribs were perfectly tender, bursting with flavor, and had just the right amount of seasoning and marinade. You can tell they put a lot of care into their cooking. The aroma and rich taste left me craving more. Exceptional food and great service – I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu! Highly recommend!

the staff are friendly but the food is not the same as before , brisket was juicy and tender but the platter was mostly fries and mac and cheese. burger was dry this time which suprised us ( tasted like a chain fastfood burger)and although we had a reservation we waited about 40 minutes for the food to arrive. definitely room for improvement.

It was our first time at Northern Smokes. We got the sample platter 2. It was very tasty. The meat was very tender and the sides were out of this world. The gentleman at the front was also extremely nice and helpful. So thankful for a fully halal BBQ joint.

Welp. Found some amazing BBQ in Durham region. The place has been here for 6 months and me and my buddies finally just checked it out. The food is spectacular. The dining area is a little lacking. But find for dining on some bbq. The brisket was Melt in your mouth and the fries were fantastic. Highly recommend.

Good was absolutely amazing! Was in town for a hockey tournament and wanted to find a good bbq joint, googled and this place came up. So we thought we would give it a try and it did not disappointed. Sample platter was enough food for 2 adults 3 children with leftovers!! Highly recommended

Had a fantastic experience at Northern Smokes! The staff was super friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in. We tried the Sample Platter 2 with an extra order of back ribs, and everything was outstanding. The short rib and beef brisket were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Fries, coleslaw, and corn were great sides too. Highly recommend!

Very happy that my favourite halal smoke joint has opened its doors in Whitby and after having tried it a couple of times, happy to report that it's just as good as the original location. Tried the beef brisket sandwich which was absolutely amazing. The beef was perfectly tender and seasoned to perfection and it was very flavorful. It is also excellent value for the price given its hefty size. Also tried the smoked wings (honey garlic jerky) and really enjoyed that as well. The jerk chicken sandwich is also pretty good. In terms of sides, always like getting the jalapeno corn bread. Will be back for more!

First time trying out Northern Smokes have heard amazing things and let me just say that I was very impressed! The restaurant is small but has a cozy atmosphere. The food was all absolutely delicious -1/4 chicken with 3 sides ( mac and cheese , beans and jalapeño corn )and the brisket sandwich with fries . Would definitely recommend!
