Very satisfied with the expectation with which I went into MTR. The taste was very close to the original MTR in Bangalore. Excellent ambience. Was even able to converse with the waitress in Kannada 🤗. The greatest thing I liked is the different chutneys and sambars given with different dishes like Dosa, Idli, Mangalore bun etc. Generally in all the Indian restaurants I have been to in Canada, the same chutney and sambar will be given for all the dishes. But here different and appropriate chutney and sambar was given with Dosa, idly, Mangalore bun etc.. very satisfying. Not sure why they gave raitha with Bisi Bele Bath and not boondi. One suggestion to make it fully authentic is if their waiters and servers were dressed in Indian, Bangalore ethnic dresses, that I guess would complete the authenticity. Not sure of the reason, but service was pretty slow.

Well the food took me back to Bangalore! The food was great and their service was super quick. The benne masala dose had me in happy tears! Everything that we ordered was just great :) Thank you so much for bringing home so far away from home.

Walking into this place was like stepping into a comforting memory. The atmosphere immediately brought a sense of warmth and nostalgia that reminded me so much of home. The food was absolutely delicious, each bite taking me back to familiar flavors that hit the spot perfectly. What truly made the experience special, though, was the staff – their genuine kindness and attentive service added a personal touch that made me feel right at home. I couldn't help but get emotional, as everything from the ambiance to the little details brought tears to my eyes. Highly recommend!

I recently dined at MTR and had a delightful experience. My host, Likhita, was polite and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed throughout the meal. I ordered the Puris with Potato Curry, which arrived in a timely manner. The food was flavorful, and the puris were perfectly soft and fresh. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I'd highly recommend MTR for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Indian vegetarian cuisine.

As a Hyderabadi person , I loved this place. Try items like masala poori, Rava idli, Set dosa (kids would love it) and Poori and trust me you won’t get disappointed. Filter coffee is the best in Canada and their fresh Grape juice is another master piece. Try this restaurant on weekday for amazing service. Love the place and would definitely come back whenever I miss South Indian food

One of the really authentic south Indian restaurants with a very soothing ambient and music. Food is tasty and delicious. Most importantly everything is very hygenic. Lastly, our server Navneet was very humble and helped us at every step to under and recommend good dishes based on our taste buds.

I recently visited MTR 1924 with some friends, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! The South Indian food was incredibly authentic and delicious. Each dish we tried was bursting with flavor, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the region. What really impressed me was the service. It was remarkably quick—faster than a McDonald’s drive-thru! The staff was not only efficient but also very friendly. I loved seeing the diverse team, with employees from Punjab to Bangalore, all working together harmoniously. Overall, MTR 1924 exceeded my expectations with its great food and warm hospitality. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu! Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine South Indian cuisine.

I was extremely excited that MTR was opening in GTA but was thoroughly disappointed when I visited it last weekend. MTR Mississauga is nowhere close to the MTR Lalbagh standards. 1. The dose batter was not fermented enough and had no salt in it. I eat very little salt and usually find restaurant food salty but these dose were bland. 2. Food was brought out of order. This isn't an offense but when you are served the dose first, coffee next and the idli vada in the end, you know you are not in an authentic South Indian restaurant. 3. The benne dose was nothing like authentic benne dose and the set dose were nothing like set dose should be. Having eaten at multiple MTRs in Bangalore, you can tell the difference. 4. The vadas were just barely cooked. They needed to be cooked for another 30 - 60 secs. I also do the "sogginess test" in all the South Indian restaurants with my vadas by dipping them in sambar for 1-2 minutes. If it still comes out even a little crispiness, it passes my test with flying colours. MTR in Bangalore was the only one that had passed this test in the last 10 years. The dipped vadas in Mississauga MTR unfortunately were super soggy. I tried with the vada from the idli vada plate too and it failed as well. 5. The quintessential boondi was missing from the bisi bele bath. I don't know whether MTR in Bangalore provides it but bisi bele bath feels incomplete without it. 6. The sagu was very watery and it lacked flavour whereas the sambar was overdone and salty. 7. When serving 2 cups of coffee, at least provide 3 spoons. 2 for the individual cups and 1 for adding sugar so that people don't use the same spoon for stirring and put it back in the sugar bowl. 8. From the conversations happening with waiters all around us, it appears that a few of your waiters/waitresses don't even know what is on the menu. They were getting confused between idli and button idli, idli and idli vada etc. We got served idlis at first but our waitress was attentive and sent the person back saying that our order was for idli vada and not idli. Then we got the idli vada 25 minutes later. 9. We went at the start of the shift before they even started taking orders. Even with that, our food came out very late and it came out cold. The food must have been sitting in the kitchen for a while because the ghee that came with the bisi bele bath has turned solid. 10. The waitress who checked us out in the end (not the one who took our order) was having some trouble using the machine as well. The only two positives were the pachadi that was served with the bisi bele bath, and the waitress who took our order. She knew what was what and sounded like someone who has worked in this field. Hence, the 2 stars. The owners of this location need to step up to match the same standards as MTR Lalbagh and probably work on your soft launch for longer until your kitchen staff and wait staff understand what they are cooking and serving. I would like to have a better experience here in the future so I will visit again in a few months to see if these teething issues are over.
