Hutch's Harbour Front

I just remembered how traumatic and dehumanising the service here was when I went here in 2019. I was only 11, and my dad brought me here to get ice cream, and when I was asked for my name for my order, I used my real name, and while they were making the order I heard them making fun of it. It made me cry. It was during the time when a lot of things were going on in my life that I prefer not to talk about, and this does not help. I know it's late to make this review, but I can't let this slide any longer. I do not wish to go here again.

Great Experience today , Dec.18/24. I Ordered a Hot Dog and Fries for Take Out. Both were Delicious. Great Staff taking orders , she was Amazing .

Had the worst experience here the other day. I ordered what I typically would order at the Hutch's on the beach...1 piece, chips, gravy on the side with fountain drink. It was almost $10 more at this location which is ludicrous. Now I'll pay extra for quality anyday....but it was the worst fish and chips. Fish was tiny and overcooked. The chips were decent but it was such a tiny portion by comparison to the beach. This cannot be the same owner ?!? It was an embarrassment, actually. The service was terrible...the counter girl actually got into an altercation with a customer who questioned the price ...the same girl actually asked my friend and I to leave so she could finish "cleaning up" and it was only 7:50 pm. The website had the hrs advertising closing at 9pm. Would definitely not recommend to my worst enemy and won't go back. Shame on you. No pictures....I was disgusted and most went to the trash. Waste of time and money and calories. (My friend made it worth it because I hadn't seen her in awhile)

Nice place... Hutch's has been around since the middle of the last century and it has a reputation for really good fish and chips, ice cream, and even burgers like the famous Sportsman Burger, which now clocks in at $10 even. I find I get the best results when I ask them to cook my fish "lightly"... You might want to give that a try. Last time I heard, they are still cooking their fish in beef tallow as opposed to all the stupid healthy oils that we've got nowadays that are supposed to keep our hearts from exploding. The difference is cooking it in beef tallow actually makes the fish better so hey take a day off of your diet and get one piece of decent fish. What good is perfect health if you're constantly depriving yourself of the pleasures in life?

Sorry Hutch's. Your excellent reviews must have been bases on your past glory days. You can do better. We were there 2 weeks ago. The hot dog was off colour and the grilled cheese sandwich was made with what looked like a Kraft cheese slice. The fish in the fish and chips tasted good but everything was very greasy. Ice cream was good with many interesting flavours. I can't even think about your public washroom. It smells like a camping site latrine. The odour goes into the dining room. 🤢 Too horrible to even think about. We'll never go back.

Went over to Hamilton for a day-trip and stop by Hutch's for a quick bite. We ordered a few things and were pleasantly surprised by the portions. Good price and value for money for what we got. The Fish Tacos were great with the toppings, and the Fish Burger was quite good. The batter-fried Mozzarella Sticks and Pickles were a nice accompaniment too.

Stopped by right after opening on a Sunday. Ordered large fish and chips with a side of onion rings and gravy. Fish was fresh, soft and juicy on the inside - really tasty dipped in the packaged tartar sauce. Onion rings were crispy. Fries were lacking this day, seemed stale in my opinion. Gravy was tasty, although could be salty to some. Outdoor patio seating is nice and additional tables by the parking lot. Large selection of ice cream. Great option right after a walk by the water. I would mention though, that we found traces of other ice cream in our mint chocolate scoop. The staff should be more vigilant to rinse more thoroughly in between scoops.

Best fries in the city bar none. Generous portions at a good price and family friendly atmosphere make this an ideal place to eat at. I love to go in the summer and eat outside on their patio and have a delicious ice cream with a myriad of flavours to choose from!
