Zaffron/Persian Food

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zaferon Restaurant and trying their Baghali Polo with lamb shank, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The dish was beautifully presented, with the lamb shank served in a rich, flavorful sauce that was perfectly spiced. The meat was tender and fell off the bone effortlessly, making it a delight to eat. The Baghali Polo was a true highlight of the meal. The saffron-infused rice, combined with perfectly cooked dill and broad beans, was aromatic and full of flavor. The golden tahdig (crispy rice) was an absolute treat, with its crunchy texture providing a delightful contrast to the soft and fluffy rice underneath. The sides, including fresh herbs, pickled vegetables, and the garnished onion slices, complemented the meal wonderfully, adding freshness and balance to the rich flavors of the main dish. The service was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall experience. I highly recommend Zaferon Restaurant for anyone craving authentic Persian cuisine. Their Baghali Polo with lamb shank is a must-try!

Went here for dinner and the food was good. We tried a variety of their dishes and they were all good. However, the same cannot be said about their service. The servers are not the most friendly and be prepared to ask for everything. Don’t expect them to come fill your water or anything without asking. Overall, the food is decent but don’t expect great service.

Excellent Persian restaurant. Went for lunch as a party of three and ordered the family platter #2 and stuffed grape leaves. Service was quick and friendly and the food was great.

Very good dining experience here. The staff is nice and friendly. The food I ordered is chicbeef. It is overall good and in a big portion, but it’s a bit dry for me. If there’s some sauce, it’ll be better.

Best place to have Fresh Persian Food. They have ample amount of seating and location is top notch. My favourite is Vaziri Kebob. I have ordered at this restaurant multiple times through delivery but going in-person to have the warm and delicious food served to you is on whole another level. Will be a repeat customer for sure. Service is fast and friendly.

We went to this restaurant for a birthday lunch and according to my mother the swarma dish she had was the worst one she's ever tasted. The meat was very badly cooked and not seasoned well. It was dry and tasteless. I agree I tasted her left overs. Hummus, tahini and even garlic sauce could have made things better. She was allowed to only pick 2 sides. Other places give you the choice of 5+ add-ons. The eggplant was served in what seemed to be a ketchup sauce and the mushrooms were simply in vinegar. This dish was not worth $19. And the server was never around to answer questions or rectify the issue. My mom expected a fresh salad as well, but was too disappointed to ask.

The food at Zaffron is absolutely fantastic! Price is reasonable, and the service is excellent. You can find some quiet times when not too many customers are here as well. Highly recommend!

We had lunch at this restaurant which is right on Yonge street. Bonus is the private parking lot at the back of the property. We ordered rice dishes and both were delicious and a good size. We even got personal “tahdigs” with our rice. The tea at the end with the sweet was so delicious and a perfect end to our meal. Our server “Farzan” was super polite and courteous and helpful. The environment is clean and quiet with a nostalgia vibe. I’ve read other reviews about the interior and I really like their setup. Chairs are comfortable and a good seating size. We will surely be back with family. Overall very delicious food and a pleasant environment.
