Tokyo Hot Fried Chicken

First tried Tokyo Hot Fried Chicken way back during the Pokemon Go frenzy (remember thr Toronto Island Ferry location?! It was a blast!), followed them to the CNE, and onwards. Jordon, the owner/originator is the sweetest, most hard working young man. He's been grinding out these sandwiches everywhere and anywhere he can find a spot to do so -- the boy knows how to hustle and it's a pleasure to support an emerging Toronto kitchen. The Nashville Hot Sandwich is the best fried chicken I've ever encountered in Toronto, hands down. That's it. Truly delicious.

I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the 2 piece chicken on rice. Honestly, if I could I’d give this place a 0 start I would because the food was absolutely garbage. The advertisement and options were very appealing on Uber eats, hence what initially got my attention and ended up ordering from this establishment but their food quality wasn’t anywhere near their marketing quality. Food was bland, cold, chicken overcooked and all I could taste was grease. Very low chicken quality and it was mostly just fried batter. Rice was bland, and the chicken didn’t taste anything like how an authentic Nashville flavour was suppose to taste like. Reading the other reviews, it seemed although others liked what they ordered but I’ll be steering far away from this place.

I've heard this is best chicken sandwich in the city, and that might just be the case. The chicken is crispy, moist, succulent and flavourful. It's actually quite spectacular. More than that, The garage box I think stood out more than the sandwich. The fried chicken mixed with the Japanese ingredients and rice is an amazing combination especially Because the chicken is so soft, crispy and moist.

I ordered it from Ubereats for a try, that was completely disaster. When I got the order, gyoza was all spilled out with sauce as the lid of sauce was not closed properly. Our order was all get spilled with sauce, the bottom part of the order bag was also filled with sauces which messed up our floor, we needed to mop it. Sauce was sticky, we had to clean the whole take out order to have our meal, that was completely unacceptable. If you like your order with a sauce spilled out all over your delivery bag, you definitely should try how their sticky sauce ruined your day!

Got uber eats delivery. This chicken was so crispy that I was afraid of waking up other people with the sounds of my crunching. I got the Tokyo hot fried chicken sandwich with hot honey. Unexpected Japanese flavors mixed with chicken sandwich love. My only wish was that the buns were more flavorful and not so mushy (although I did order delivery). Definitely can see myself introducing this place to friends!

Really enjoyed the karaage box. The chicken sandwiches are juicy, and all ingredients are fresh. Everything on their menu is reasonably priced. All halal!

The food was good. I ordered the Tokyo Hot Fried Chicken, Mini Bento Meal, Gyoza, and Half a pound of chicken. The taste was alright I feel that it could have been better. Since I ordered the food I am aware that it would have become slightly colder and less fresh and eating it at the restaurant would have been better. The “Special - Tokyo Hot Fried Chicken” sandwich had coleslaw and wasabi. Personally I don’t think this combination worked out. It wasn’t very tasty, however, it’s a good attempt. I ordered the half pound chicken with fries, with smokey Okonomiyaki sauce. Again it came with wasabi on top and I didn’t like the combination. It didn’t taste good. If you wish to order the chicken try another sauce option to avoid the wasabi. The gyoza was nice, I would definitely recommend, especially when paired well with the soy sesame sauce. Their best meal, however, is the mini bento box. I loved this and would definitely recommend everyone to try!
