Pro- very good authentic South Indian food. Best place for South Indian food takeouts. I tasted every menu items here and they all amazingly authentic. They have dine in facility also Cons- not very clean and inviting dining space. It’s for them who just want to finish their food and go on. Bright white light everywhere and steel plates with lots of noise around. Not good for couple who want to spend quality dining time.

This place used to be our go to for South Indian food for many years. Since last few month not sure what changed and the quality of food and service went to rock bottom. I went in this morning and dosa is so thick and tastes uncooked. My few other friends also had same experience and now they don’t want to talk about this place anymore. I would be the same. Another issue: the girl at the take out counter (for the morning shift) was packing take out containers for customers and her mouth was full of food. So she was chewing her food and packing customer takeout at the same time - really no sense of hygiene - forget about customer service. I really miss the quality of food and service this place used to have. I don’t know the name of that tall with curly hairs, he used to be managing this place and food and quality was so good.

The visit to Nilgiri left a lot to be desired. While the food was generally "okay," the pervasive use of canola oil noticeably affected the taste, especially in dishes like idli, dosa, uttapam, and tomato rice. The coffee was a particular disappointment; it had an odd vanilla aftertaste that persisted even after the server replaced it, yet we were still charged for it. Service overall didn’t meet expectations, as the staff seemed unresponsive to feedback. We also tried the mithai, but it was discolored and didn’t seem fresh, adding to the disappointing experience. Based on this visit, I wouldn’t recommend Nilgiri unless they make some improvements, especially in ingredient quality and customer care.

Great food, friendly staff and super fast service and very reasonably price. The best part is the food is not overly spiced and oils like most Indian restaurants to increase shelf life. Things are made fresh and delicious. Best part is the post meal filter coffee

Worst worst experience!! Today we picked up combo idlis and extra idlis and medu vadas plus chutney for our guests.. as soon as we opened sambhar this is what we saw a dead bug inside!!! This is going to be taken further to health and food safety department. Sucks for such restaurants to serve and pack such a disaster!! Stay away from this restaurant

It was a bad decision to go dine at this outlet, else usually Nilgiris has a good reputation for South Indian food in GTA. I ordered onion tomato uttapam that was served almost cold, burnt on the underside, overcooked and really spicy. We were waiting for someone to come attend our table and after 10 minutes, someone finally decided to show up. We wanted an explanation for the condition of the food and the person just left to go to the kitchen and never returned. And when we asked for a refund, they refused saying we can make you another one. They kept arguing saying it was freshly prepared, but by that point, I had lost my appetite and just wanted to leave. The only good thing was the filter coffee, as we stepped out of the place after complaining to the manager for serving cold food. It almost felt like the uttapam was sitting on the counter unattended for an hour, until it got served on our table. Overall, an unexpectedly bad experience, and I would not recommend anyone to go there for their South Indian cravings. The Brampton location of Nilgiris certainly needs to be taught to respect food!

A great spot for experiencing authentic South Indian cuisine. The service here is fast and the quality of the food is outstanding. Prices are quite good too. We got the Madras Thali, Idli Vada plate and Paper Roast Dosa, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend paying a visit and certainly looking forward to coming again!!

I tried the masala dosa, medhu vada and filter coffee. All were really really good the first time. I was soo tempted to go there again. But on the second visit, medhu vada made me a little disappointed. Its was still good but not to the mark of first visit.
