Ming's Restaurant

Wanted to try this restaurant after someone showed us a social media post about this place. Have to say I wasn't really impressed. The place has some nice deals for afternoon tea where you get some decent value for money, but to be honest I wasn't overly impressed with the food. The hainanese chicken was decent, but the rice in oil served with it wasn't really well made (was a bit too soft) and was a bit bland. The seafood rice dish also wasn't really flavourful either. We did get a free dish of salty and spicy pork because the restaurant was offering it free if you pay cash and spend more than $40. That dish was decent. Service overall was okay. The people working there are pretty nice, but the waitress who took our orders seemed a little absent minded and got our orders wrong.

Food is pretty decent and so is the atmosphere, pricing and service. Overall good but nothing spectacular, if you're just looking for a regular lunch thats decently priced, this is a pretty good place to go. I went around lunch time on a Friday and there were seats available which is a plus.

Friendly service & delicious meal. Crispy pork chops were huge size and very juicy. Beef baked rice with black pepper sauce was tasty. Beef brisket soup noodle "kwai lam" style had lots of tomatoes & pickled veggies, very favorable 😋😋😋 . Very enjoyable dinner.

Food is okay: it's what you expect in a hk diner but those fries were amazing. Everything else was eh. I love that it's a traditional hk diner, none of the frilly fancy stuff like expensive Christmas dinners on the menu. It's 3* because it's alright. I recommend it as a goto place where you don't need to dress up but it's not somewhere aesthetic or a place for a date. I got the special combo 特餐 B $12.99. Love the fries! Wish there were more lol EDIT: I loved their French toast 西多士！So much butter and it was very thick! Their mushroom and chicken noodle were also great, although a little smaller portion than I thought. I def recommend this place for a quick bite.

Very big portions at a very good price. Food tasted excellent. Cold milk tea and lemon tea portions were also very large. Edit 09/24/22: Reduced my original rating because this restaurant tried to cheat us money without us knowing. Ordered the combo for two for $30 but they tried to charge us $33. We brought this discrepancy up to the cashier and asked why the 時菜班球 was so expensive, and all they said was that they made a mistake in their calculation Edit 06/16/2023: Food still inexpensive for the portion. Great milk tea and lemon tea size cups. But, very few servers. To make matters worse, servers seem to have more time chatting with customers instead of bringing us the bill. Despite this, I will raise my rating to 3/5.

Went to Toronto to visit friends and came to Ming’s restaurant! Friendly and quick service! The portions are on the larger side. Their HK milk tea was on par to the HK cafes in HK and in Vancouver! The baked dish was absolutely delicious and I finished it all in one sitting!! I don’t normally eat pork, but their pork chops were yummy and fresh. My friend ordered the noodles in soup and she said it was super tasty! Wish I had more time in Toronto to come back and try other dishes from their menu. Will definitely recommend to friends when they go to Toronto and I will definitely come back again! P.S. - their AC was so nice.

This small cafe was clean and the servers were friendly. I ordered the pick your own noodle set. You can choose your own broth, any two ingredients and one type of noodles. It comes with a drink too. The fish broth was tasty with no msg. The noodle set was good for value. They also have a wide variety of rice, fried noodles, pasta and tea sets. Will come back to try other items!

Love this family owned and run restaurant! The owners are so friendly and it makes you feel like home. The food portions are HUGE and the prices are very reasonable. My favourites are the French toast, lemongrass pork chop, baked pork chops, hainanese chicken and the afternoon tea here!
