Good Catch Cafe (Fairview Mall)

Love the HK style curry brisket and my bestie ordered Spaghetti/Rice chicken which reminded me so much of Jollibee’s spaghetti.. so good and delicious. The Waiter said it’s spicy but it’s not actually. The price includes a drink from their selection. The Staff are amazing.

We came here on a weekend in the afternoon and it was quite busy. It's conveniently located inside Fairview Mall and the menu has many drink and food options. You can join the queue by entering your phone number and name on their smart tablet outside the restaurant and once inside they have both a QR code on the table and physical menus so you can choose how you place your order. They have seating for both inside and outside the restaurant. We shared a Charcoal toast with condensed milk and butter as a snack and ordered a cold coffee tea mix, cold milk tea and a red bean with milk tea freeze. It was ok but nothing special. I liked how they offer specialty and fusion items that are not readily available at regular HK cafes. I can tell they put in effort on the decor and it's a blend of both modern and traditional elements. They serve their drinks in disposable cups even if you order inside the restaurant so it's not as environmentally friendly but on the flip side it's convenient to take it with you and walk around the mall to finish your drink.

Overall it’s okay for a quick bite, however, not as good as the one in Markham I feel. Our fish balls were served lukewarm( the core was still cold) … hope it will get better

Honestly not sure why this place has such bad reviews because it’s a pretty solid spot. North York doesn’t have a lot of great HK cafes compared to Scarbs and Markham/Richmond Hill so I was very excited that they opened a Good Catch here. Of course the prices are a little higher because of its location inside Fairview. We went on a Sunday for lunch and were seated quickly, food came out fast and service was efficient. Their Beef Satay noodles were really tasty and the beef was so tender. The baked pork chop rice was also on point. Only complaint is the iced HK Milk Tea tasted a bit watered down. Honestly pretty solid HK Cafe for this area and definitely hits the spot if you’re not up for the long waits and drive to the more authentic spots in Markham and Scarbs.

The food and drinks arrived very quickly which was great! I found the pineapple juice tasted different from all the other ones I’ve ever had at restaurants and it was too sweet. For the milk toast, I prefer just the regular condensed milk toast but wanted to try Ovaltine and unfortunately it’s not for me. I’d like to come back at a later date to try their lunch or dinner menu and possibly a different drink.

Decent Hong Kong style cafe. Self served line up and self served order. Waitress came by a few time to make sure we are ok. Food came fast and overall tasted good. Portion is good the ox tongue is thicc cut and juicy. Sauce on udon was a bit goopy.

The mix grill rice portion is super worth it and it's sharable for 2pax. The milk tea is good too. Overall, a good place to try if you're looking for something new. Paying by cash gets you some discount too. Verdict: Must try

Delicious food—we got the shrimp toast and the pepper chicken with curry sauce baked with cheese and rice. Service was on point. Price point is very reasonable. Got seated right away. Would highly recommend! Forgot to take pics before taking initial bites of the shrimp toast!
