Far East Chinese Restaurant

Dec 31, 2024 I placed an early take out order and the lady that took the order was extremely rude and condescending. Upon picking my order up I made mention that the website indicates 10% off pick ups over $30. I was told that the amount was changed to $50 to get 10% off. I mentioned they should change the error on website and if they are not honouring advertised discount it would be considered false advertising. Everyone behind the counter aggressively tried to justify this error by saying they had nothing to do with that website? They don’t have to give discount and a lot of other dumb excuses. The other customers in line agreed with what the website advertised. For me it wasn’t about the money it was about principle and the lack of customer service that was received. I get in my car and look at my bill and it was $49.85 . You would think that any intelligent business person would have honoured the 10% being so close to the $50. At this point I could have gone back in to make a stink, but honestly I was mentally exhausted. You can’t fix stupid. FYI. Their food used to be amazing and honestly it was terrible this time. My opinion they have gone downhill. I will be taking my business somewhere where I feel like a customer not an idiot 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

This whole experience pissed me off. I order pick up takeout, large order mind you. Was told 45 minutes to pick up, that's fine...showed up at pickup time and waited an additional 15 minutes on top, paid for food and left. when I got hone I noticed that the Chicken chow mein that was ordered was chicken chop suey. All bean sprouts no noodles, so I called the restaurant to reflect the mistake and inquire, I let them know I wasn't able to come get a replacement but just wanted them to be more thorough next time with takeout orders. Apparently they just have the same dishes under different names becuad the Chicken Chow Mein a traditional NOODLE dish had zero noodles. they had the dry noodles that come on top of Chop Suey and we're serving it as such. When I let them know their mistake they seemed to not care at all. Will never order from them again, they had a white lady on the phones and taking care of takeout orders who clearly doesn't know the difference between a chow mein and chop suey. So that's absolute bullshit.

I wish I had read the recent reviews before wasting $140 on less than mediocre food and very poor customer service. We have been customers and lovers of Far East for years. The quality of their food has seriously gone down hill. Ordered the house speciality chicken and orange chicken, and they tasted the exact same! With the exception of a few different veggies. Absolutely no spice to the house speciality when I requested hot like I always have in the past. I knew their prices increased but was okay with biting the bullet as I was craving their Singapore noodles, however, it was never delivered. The lady on the phone that took my order completely missed it and it’s on me for not having her repeat my order before hanging up the phone. I called to explain the situation and they wanted me to come back with the food… if I was able to come to your establishment I wouldn’t have spent money on delivery and would have “saved 10%”. Will never be back.

Love the food, but miss being able to sit down to eat as they are now take out only. Staff is very friendly and service is fast. Whenever we are in the area we make sure to order there.

It's the only Chinese food I'll ever eat. I've tried others, and they do not come close. Over 50 of excellent food. I'm so Thankful... 🥰

Been a customer for 15 years Used to eat in all the time and order out multiple times a year. 40 $ dinner no fortune cookies and no plum sauce. Food was mediocre and the rice tastes like minute-rice. Customer service was poor as it's been for a while now. They don't care they just want your money. This place has been going downhill ever since they made it take out only. After today's visit we will never come back, you've officially lost another loyal customer... Actually multiple considering my whole family grandparents, parents and siblings not too mention in laws come here. Iwould never have imagined I'd be writing this review, Far East is not worth your time, money and definitely not your loyalty because it means nothing to them. My family's new go to AMAZING Chinese restaurant is NAN- KING chinese food In St.Catharines on Martindale Rd. Take out only but WELL worth your time.

Been getting food year for years with no complaints. We got our meal with soggy rice, burnt tasting beef, and extremely dry orange chicken. We apologized for the inconvenience but asked if we could have the food remade. Workers were very hostile and rude. When we arrive at the store again with the food we were told they tasted it and it was fine and no refund. We stated we did not want a refund, it was not made properly and we just wanted it remade. We were told ‘they find that hard to believe’ and said they’ll make it new but only would fill the container half full. After 20 minutes of waiting the Asian lady at the front counter threw the bag on the table, gave us a nasty look, and walked back into the kitchen. So baffled, have always ordered our Chinese from here. Because of their inability to handle one complaint kindly, after years of purchasing from them, we will never be ordering from here again. Update: they didn’t even remake the food lol just heated up the old stuff. Gross place don’t eat here.
