Ely's Fine Foods

I was pretty unhappy with the food at my sons bar mitzvah. Part of that was due to keeping within kosher guidelines we were limited with food, heating and cooking. To their credit we were catering an event on Shabbat after a holiday. But if I had known this would mean non toasted stale bagels, parve tasteless cream cheese (of which there was not enough and we ran out of cream cheese during the event- unacceptable for a brunch) and food that had been sitting in a warmer for several days, I would have definitely opted for a non kosher venue with fresh, hot and normally prepared food where I didn’t have to buy disposable dishes. I think this caterer was trying to deliver the food for the event while trying to stay within their COR restrictions but the result was sub par food for my guests. We shouldnt be running out of food at a big event where I am paying north of $4K. I also asked for a kiddush snack to be provided for the synagigue members and was a bit apalled that it ended up being a very small platter of pastries and fruit which I could have got for $15-$20 not paid caterer $100... If you have a choice to not go COR, choose another caterer or DONT use a COR caterer on Shabbat. But I wasn’t happy with the quantity or quality of the food and the fact that we had to provide disposable dishes. You also expect the caterer to remmeber small details like linens etc and decor preferences. The day before we discovered that the napkins we ordered to match tablecloths never arrived. And when I asked the caterer about it she questioned why I even ordered those napkins. We had to rush out to the linens provider and get them ourselves. Instructions had been given in writing so I was not impressed that they forgot them and then when confronted with that told me my request was basically not even important. Just take some responsibility! On the plus side the servers were helpful and worked hard at the event.

I don't often do reviews, but this is one of those rare occasions that I feel it's warranted. Ely's has not only great quality Kosher food but is also under excellent management. Any time I've required them to go the extra mile, even when it's been a last-minute rush, they've always done their absolute best to ensure that I get what I need and when I need it. For affordable, quality kosher foods and amazing customer service, this is my go-to place. Whether it's for Shabbos, Pesach, or weekdays foods and catering, I know that I can count on them to deliver! I very highly recommend!!!

Ely's Fine Foods recently did my daughters Wedding AND Shabbat Kattan. We obviously went from 375 guests to 50 for the Wedding which was a big shock. Manny was Fantastic and treated us in the same manner and worked with us to make a creative meal that would suit a smaller more intimate event. The food was outstanding. The price always competitive (if not better) and Most of all service is impeccable and always with a smile and a lot of love. I am now using Ely's Fine Foods for Rosh Hashanah as the food and salads were and are so outstanding.

What an amazing experience! We used Ely's for our son's Brit Milah - First of all Manny is amazing, and professional. He made us feel special and at ease. The food was delicious and the presentation was excellent. The servers were so accommodating. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for catering services!

The food is always fresh and delicious and the selection has a range of regular Jewish foods along with interesting dishes including Chinese. The staff is fabulous and very helpful. I love Elys.

I had the most amazing experience with Manny and the Ely's team. They were incredible about all of our guests with allergies, and we have been getting compliments from all of our guests about how amazing the food was. I had the best experience with Manny! The catering was fantastic and the service was amazing. We are so happy with our event and looking forward to booking again. They have a very creative new chef with unbelievable presentation and very tasty dishes. Highly recommend.

It was such a pleasure to host a party in my own home catered by Ely's Fine Foods. With all the food and menu details taken care of by them, I felt like I was a guest at my own party. I was actually able to enjoy the party and spend time with my guests instead of worrying about what's happening in the kitchen. The Chef was amazing and all my guests were talking about how great the food was for days to come. Thank you Ely's Fine Foods for a well executed and delicious catering job!
